Conventional cylindrical water tanks are
most economical when post-tensioned, as the circumferential
prestressing hoop forces act directly against the tensile
stresses exerted by the fluid in the tank.
Cylindrical tanks can be designed with
internal walls for compartmentation purposes , using FEP
design software in the analysis.
